Sidney (sometimes Sydney) Edward Dickinson (1890–1980) was an American painter best known for his portraiture. Born on November 28, 1890, in Connecticut, he studied at the Art Students League of New York and later in Paris. Dickinson built a successful career painting prominent figures in politics, business, and the arts, earning recognition for his refined, naturalistic style. He exhibited widely, became a National Academician, and remained active for decades, contributing to the American portrait tradition. He passed away in April 1980.
