Francis Agemo, a graduate of Delta State University in Abraka, utilises his art
to examine the coexistence of tradition and modernity in the present-day
Nigerian society. His creations are politically charged, featuring portraits that
celebrate both the ordinary lives of people and the idea of good citizenship.
Agemo's art encapsulates the contrasting realities of contemporary Nigeria, from
the tranquility of rural areas to the bustling cities where corruption and
exhaustion is in constant conflict, fuelling the pursuit of wealth. His
drawings and sculptures explore the complexities of a world where money
and influence creates a vast chasm between prosperity and poverty.
