Aboudia (Aboudia Abdoulaye Diarrassouba) is a Côte d'Ivoire-born Contemporary artist known for his vibrant, large-scale paintings and drawings. Aboudia's style infuses elements from graffiti art and traditional African carvings, an approach which often calls comparisons to the style of late artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Aboudia was born in 1983 in Côte d'Ivoire. He attended the School of Applied Arts in Bingerville, graduating in 2003, and the Institut des Arts in Abidjan, graduating in 2005. In the wake of the tumult that followed the 2010 Côte d'Ivoire presidential election, Aboudia rose to international notoriety with his paintings documenting the turmoil he witnessed in his city.
Beginning in 2007, Aboudia's work has been included in group and solo exhibitions in cities including Basel, Miami, New York, Singapore and Hong Kong.
