Black gesture and vivid color
Sweeping black forms stretch across pale paper, punctuated by red, blue, green and yellow. Fine lines and star-like marks weave between the heavier shapes, creating a lively contrast of weight and openness.

Looking at the composition
The eye moves between broad curves and slender linear details. Bright ovals and small accents interrupt the black forms, while areas of bare paper keep the composition open. The marks suggest figures, stars and movement without settling into a single scene.
Compare this colorful work with For “Les Essencies de la Terra” (1968), where black ink and handwritten letters dominate, or explore the yellow oval and delicate lines of Personatges solars (1974).
