A multidisciplinary artist from Paris
Overview
People can project their own ideas and own vision onto my work
Helder Batista is a self-taught artist who works in both sculpture and painting. He was born in 1964 in Paris, where he took evening classes at the École des Beaux-Arts. A multidisciplinary artist, he works across different materials and supports such as resin, concrete, wood, neon, oil, and acrylic paint. Batista’s work is often ambiguous and symbolic, and prioritizes freedom of expression. Drawing inspiration from Abstract Expressionism, Batista tries to represent things as simply as possible without any frills or excess, so that people can project their own ideas and own vision onto his work.
